Page 6-B Bandon Notebook By Maqqle B HOW WAS YOUR DAY? “Never put a kindness off" or “Do today what must be done for tomorrow may be too late” has been heard so often that some people develop an apathy toward Is anybody happier because you passed his way? Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today? The day is almost over; and its toiling time is through; Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you? Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that’s slipping fast, That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said; Does the man whose hopes were fading, now with courage look ahead? Did you waste the day, or lose it? Was it well or sorely spent?. Did you leave a trail of kihdness, or a scar of discontent? As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say, “You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today”? Now, what do you think? How WAS your day? On this beautiful, crisp Lord’s Day, Asst. Supt. Wiley Hardison extended a warm welcome to those gathered for Sunday School at Bandon Chapel. He an nounced that Mrs. Trudy Lapham will be in charge of the Nursery for the Worship Service next Sunday. They are also, enthusiastically practicing for their part in our Christmas Cantata. Our Juniors, taught by Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Beach, studied “Being Loyal To God’s Plan”, Num. 13:1- . 14; 45. Aim was that the student may show loyalty to God’s revealed plan regardless of what others say or do. .“Personally Accountable To God”, Luke 12:41-48; James 5:1-6, was the topic for our adults taught by Wm. F (Butch) Smith in such a manner that no one could miss the aim of the lesson. This aim was that adult Christians handle the responsibilities God has given them in away that pleases Him. ——o“ Choir Director Bonnie Price accompanied the Bandon Stagers in their the leamltf hymn “Foßcftr 110“ H/uui vvotw new -O- Dr W.J.B. Livingston’s anything that sort of “prods” than many have no desire to change their way of living. They are satisifed with themselves. Share with me this poem by John Hall: inspiring message was “How To Get What You Need:”, Luke 7:11-18. The day after Jesus left Capernaum, He went into a city called Nain and beheld a dead man being carried out of the city. This man was the only son of a widow and her only means of support. Jesus had compassion on her. He touched the coffin and said “Young man, I say unto thee, Arise”. The dead sat up, began to speak and Jesus delivered him to his mother. Jesus saw her need. He is interested in all our needs. If we really need them and diligently seek them believing, He will supply. When Hubert Humphry came back to the Senate last Tuesday, they welcomed him with the greatest demonstration of love ever seen from that group for anyone. When Hubert took the floor he said: “Today is a very special day in my life. The greatest gift in life is the Gift of Friendship and I have received it and the greatest healer of all is Love.” All of us have this need. We all need love. The greatest friend we can have is Jesus and Jesus says He will be our friend. All we have to do is ask Him. Invite Him into your life. He will cling to you closer than a brother; He offers us forgiveness; freedom from self, loneliness, Satan, depression, sickness; He gives us hope and salvation. He will walk with you, talk with you and help you over every hurdle. He has the answer. He is the only one that can fill our needs. First timer to Bandon last week was Mrs. Ernie Emerick of Richmond, Va., guest of Mrs. E.E. Johnson. Our first timer this week was Mrs. William C. O’Neal formerly of Travis Air Force Base, Calif, and a new resident of Arrowhead Beach. Welcome. We hope you enjoyed our service and will return soon.
