Each February a study of the Home Mission Board Graded Series is scheduled to help church members learn more about the challenge and the work of home missionaries. The Leaven and the Salt which is about laypersons in missions will be the book taught by Gordon West. During the study a film Laypersons in Missions wil also be shared. There will be a morning session at 10 A.M. and a night session at 7:30 P.M. West is a member of the Edenton Baptist Church. He is a graduate of John A. Holmes High School and the College of the Albemarle. He is a junior at East Carolina University, majoring in history and after graduation plans to attend Southeastern Theological Seminary at Wake Forest. He is currently holding services at the Westend Baptist Church in Washington. Every layperson, no matter what his or her talent, can contribute something to missions. Therefore, no church member should be excluded from this year’s home mission study! ENGAGED— Mrs. Mary L. Jones of Engelhard an nounces the engagement of her daughter, Janet, to Mr. Wallace Granby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Granby of Edenton. The wedding will take place at 3 P.M. on March 25 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Edenton. A reception will follow at National Guard Armory. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. Meeting Slated The February meeting of the Albemarle Advisory Council on Aging will be held at 2 P.M. February 16 at the Edenton Municipal Building. All members are urged to attend.
