REHEARSE EASTER ORATORIO Members of College of The Albemarle’s Chorale, music students and area vocalists are busily engaged in rehearsals this week for the college’s Lyceum presentation of J.S. Bach’s “The Passion of Our Lord According to St. John”, which will be sung on Palm Sunday (March 19) at 3:30 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church in Elizabeth City. The well-known oratorio will be conducted by Dr. Clifford E. Bair, professor emeritus, with accompaniment provided by instrumentalists from the music department at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The per formance is sponsored by the COA-Community Lyceum and precedes the 1977-78 series’ final event on April 7, a presentation of “The Fourposter”, by Stage Down Under from the Norfolk Theater Center at Scop% HQATRhoto). Perkins of Toms River, N.J.; and Mrs. William Goodwin of Suffolk, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Peele of Edenton; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was a member of Edenton Baptist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Colonial Extension Homemakers Club and H.H. McMillan Group. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. (today) in Edenton Baptist Church with Dr. Robert E. Gray officiating. Burial will be in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Maurice Waff, Edsel Waff, Donald Goodwin, Quinton Goodwin, J.D. Peele, Wallace Peele, J. Louis Harrell, Jr., and Merriel Layton. Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. FBLA membership is composed of students who are enrolled in some type of business activity in educational institutions throughout the nation and who are, typically, planning a career in the business field. The organization is supervised by advisory committees comprised of business teachers, school administrators and business and professional people, who assume, the respon sibility of planning and guiding chapter activities. The thirty-three FBLA members at John A. Holmes High School and their chapter advisors, Mrs. Theresa Kerber and Mrs. Grace Byrum, have planned numerous activities to in volve the student body in the FBLA spirit during this special week. Activities emphasizing FBLA week will include the distribution of pencils to the entire stfttifeht body,' sponsoring art FBLA dress-up day and selling FBLA candy. Representatives from King’s Business College will also address the Holmes business students and con duct a workshop for the student body. A movie on FBLA will be shown to business students.
