A representative from each team which plans to miter the league must attend this meeting. Girls Softball Sign-up Girls ages (9-12, 13-15) interested in playing soft ball this summer can pick up forms at the schools or at the Recreation Department. Instead of Monday nights for these meetings, it will be on Tuesday nights. Men’s Death Claims Mr. Adkins Lowell Edison Adkins, 61, Route 2, Cape Colony died suddenly Tuesday at Chowan Hospital. He was a retired electrical foreman with C & 0 Railroad. A native of Cabell County, Huntington, W. Va., he was a veteran of the Merchant Marine, the son of the late Delbert C. and Mennie Feeley Adkins and the husband of Mrs. Grace Edler Adkins. In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons: Rev. Lowell Earl Adkins of Burlington; and Paul Stephen Adkins of Colum bus, Ohio; a brother, Thomas Adkins of Freemont, Calif.; and six sisters: Mrs. K. L. Callicoat of Charleston, W. Va.; Mrs. P. E. Fleming of North Cape BPW Slates Lunch Sales Edenton’s Business and Professional Women’s Club will be holding its annual Chicken Salad Plate Lunch Sale Tuesday. Proceeds will be used for scholarships to be awarded to two senior high school girls in Chowan County and other com munity donations. The {date lunch includes chicken salad, crackers, apple ring, pickles, potato chips, devil egg and cake. Va.; and Marcum Chapter, Order of Eastern Star in Ceredo, W. Va. Funeral services for Mr. Adkins were held at 4 P.M. Wednesday in Edenton Baptist Church with Dr. Robert E. Gray officiating.
