WHISPERED
I heard the rooster calling loud,
€&nd I rushed out to see.
Je called all the hens together,
Just as jittery be could be.
Then he stretched out his neck,
And crowed loud as he could,
He had been a real smart rooster,
And I still wish he would.
Then he took one hen off,
And seemed to whisper in her ear.
They went strutting around the corner,
To find a nest that was near. x
Here comes the farmers wife,
With a basket in her hand.
She was looking for an egg,
To cook in her new frying pan.
An egg rfiakes a perfect meal,
Yes any time during the day.
You may prefer it boiled or fried,
Or prepared in some other special way.
All of you that read my writings,
Pray that I will keep my eye sight.
So when the nights are long and dreary,
I’ll have the pleasure to read and write.
