Micro - Wave Oven Testing Is Being Offered Micro-wave oven testing is being offered in the home by request through the Pasquotank - Perquimans - Camden-Chowan District Health Department. The test will determine if a micro-wave oven located in the home is emitting an unsafe amount of radiation. Micro-wave oven testing is a simple procedure in volving only a matter of minutes. The procedure detects radiation and its location of leakage. Many factors contribute to micro-wave oven leakage. These include failure of safety features such as a door switch in terlock, a part of the door becoming worn or bent, or even failure to keep the door seal clean. Persons owning micro wave ovens in Pasquotank, Perquimans, Camden, and Chowan counties are urged to / call the Health Department and make an appointment for this service.
