Seabrook Blanching
Corporation announced the
reorganization of .its
Edenton plant effective
September 15. The
reorganizations created two
independent departments
within the plant, as a result

Southeastern Section
Trading for peanuts grown
in the Southeast was
moderate. Demand was
moderate, and prices were
barely steady. Trading was
slowed during the week as
dealers waited for the ef
fects of Hurricane Frederic.
The storm generally
bypassed most peanut
producing areas except for
light acreage in Western
Alabama. The crop was in
good condition in the
Southeast. Peak harvest
was expected this week and
next week in Georgia.
Digging thus far indicated
good yields. Prices paid per
pound for Southeastern
grown shelled Runner Type
peanuts, new crop, sold on
an FOB shipping point basis
for September shipment
unless otherwise stated
were for Medium 34V« cents,
October to December
delivery 3414, October to
March 34%; Number One
September to December
32*4, October to January
32*4, January to June 32%;
U. S. Splits September to
October 34%.
Virginia-North Carolina
Section Trading for
