When June came in Monday, it brought with it “manna from Heaven” - rain! Much needed rain, not just a drizzle, but rain which put smiles on the faces of the farmers and gardeners in the area. Speaking of smiles, share with me this essay from TTie Kleinknecht Encyclopedia, reprinted in “The New Age”: Heaven. A perfect day for every one to enter the church of their choice for a spiritual refueling. The fine folk gathered at Bandon Chapel for Sunday School were joyfully welcomed by Supt. Meta Mason. She read a ietter from Hugh and Bea Peters (they visited with, us last week) thanking everyone for their warm welcome which made them feel right at home, adding that no matter where they went, Bahdon Chapel would always hold a special place in their hearts. Supt. Mason announced that Prayer Meeting & Bible Study will be Tuesday at 7:30 P.M. in Fellowship Hall conducted by Pastor Bob. We are beginning to study the Book of Amos, which is just as applicable today as it was when written. Our Bible Study is taught in a manner that is easy for all to understand but if there are questions, they are an swered in away that makes it clear in one’s mind. All of us need to grow in God’s Word and we are very fortunate to have such a good teacher. Come out each Tuesday and join us. It will enrich your daily life. Choir Practice follows Bible Study at 8:15 P.M. The BCWG’s regular meeting is held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday in Fellowship Hall. Come out and join in the fellowship and fun. Prayer List: When we pray, we alway spray that God’s Will be done. Only He knows what the future holds. Please add our friends to your prayer list. Bill O’Neal, Sr. is hospitalized in Greenville. Pray that they will find his trouble and correct it; Dot Benton is confined to Chowan Hospital and needs your fervent prayers; Wm. T. Webb, uncle of Henry T. Bunting, will undergo eye surgery at the Atlantic City General Hospital, Atlantic City, N.J., next week. Say a special prayer for him. Willie Long of Washington, N.C., brother of Steve Long of Arrowhead Beach, is con fined to the Beaufort County Hosp., Washington, N.C. and needs prayer. Everett Chapman is very ill and would appreciate your prayers; I’m happy to report that our Guardian Angel, Hilda Wisner, is much improved. She’s been confined to Chowan Hospital for a week but no visitors allowed. Cards would be appreciated to let her know you’re thinking of her. The room number is 208; please remember Wallace Taylor; Dan Darden; Willinett Dilday; Meta Mason; Helen Headen; Len Koraska; Jeanne Church; families and loved ones of the men injured or killed in the disaster on the Carrier Nimitz last week; our Nation, its leaders and its people; our missionnaries and our Pastor, Rev. Robert S. Harrell and his family. ‘‘The Father’s Discipline”, Heb. 12:1-13, was the topic for our adults, taught in an interesting and enlightening manner by Stan Turbyfill. Aim was that adult Christian will evaluate the purpose of divine discipline in their lives. The beautiful arrangement of fresh spring flowers gracing our altar Sunday was given by Helen Skinner in loving memory of her husband, Henry. At our Worship Service Sunday, the Shepherd of Bandon’s Flock, Pastor Robert S. Harrell, went out into the congregation to personally welcome and shake hands with our visitors, first-timers and our week-enders with whom he was not familiar. This has been routine for some time now and really does make one feel “wanted”. Pastor Bob’s inspired message was “Judge Not”, Matt. 7:1-5.
