For Onion Mayonnaise, mix % teaspoon onion powder and Vi teaspoon garlic powder with Vi cup mayonnaise to use with vegetable, egg, chicken or ham salad. Curried Sesame Mayon naise is created by stirring Vi teaspoon curry powder into Vi cup mayonnaise until well blended then folding in 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seed. A gourmet touch with cold, just-cooked vegetables or mixed greens is Dill Mayonnaise; % teaspoon dill weed in Vi cup mayonnaise. —O— While guests wait for dinner, serve them Blue Cheese-Stuffed Mushrooms, Select two dozen, good-sized caps; wash and dry, then sprinkle with salt. Combine 1 stick butter and Vi cup crumbled Blue Cheese; beat until smooth. Stir in one-half cup herb-seasoned stuffing and one teaspoon finely chopped onion. Spoon about one and one-half teaxpoons into each mushroom cap. Bake 10 to 15 minutes in a preheated 400-degree oven. Remove from baking sheet and serve immediately. Makes 24. Combine fresh fruit with canned chunk chicken and come up with delicious Chicken Salad Diana. Drain one can chunk chicken, reserving broth. In bowl, combine 7 kiwifruit, peeled and sliced; one cup fresh pineapple chunks and chicken. Arrange on can taloupe ring and make yogurt dressing by com bining reserved broth, one fourth cup yogurt and Vs teaspoon ground cinnamon. This serves 2 and is only 229 calories per serving. Death Claims Mr. Miller Jesse James Miller, 71, 411 East Queen Street, died July 2 in Chowan Hospital. He was retired from Edenton Cotton Mills. A native of Chowan County, he was the son of the late William and Lydia Asbell Miller. He was married to Mrs. Sadie Basnight Miller, who sur vives. In addition to his wife, surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Margie M. Lassiter of Edenton; Mrs. Margaret M. Habit of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Mrs. Maxine M. Craven of Louisville, Ky.; a sister, Mrs. Nonie White of Edenton; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Graveside services were held at 4 P.M. Saturday in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ashby Browder and Kev. Richard Holstead officiated. Pallbearers were: Gerald Lassiter, Roy Harrell, O’Neal Castelloe, Earl Wilder, Leslie Kirby and Dewey Whitehurst. Williford - Barham Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. DOT Meeting Rescheduled RALEIGH - The next meeting of the N. C. Board of Transportation has been rescheduled and will be held on July 24 at 10 A. M. in the board room of the Highway Building in downtown Raleigh. Board meetings are normally held on the second Friday of each month. The July session was originally scheduled for the 10th.
