THE CHOWAN HERALD Page 7-B NCSU To Hold Open House N. C. State University wiU open its doors to the public this year on Sept. 26. The 1981 Open Hotise event will carry the theme “NCSU -a Step Toward the ( Future” to show Hhe university’s progressive programs in education, research, and extension. 1 NCSU’B annual Open House attracts thousands of North Carolinians to the campus, especially high school students interested in the educational op portunities offered by the university. This year, visitors will register at Reynolds Coliseum to pick up programs and campus maps and to see special exhibits. From 8:30 A. M. until ; 3 P.M. that day, they will have an opportunity to visit the classrooms, laboratories and other facilities of NC SU’s nine schools: Agricultural and Life Sciences, Design, Education, Engineering c Forest Resources/ Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Textiles, and Veterinary Medicine. Each school will present informative exhibits and demonstrations and will schedule special tours of its facilities. In addition, student centers, a residence hall, and library facilities will be open for tours. Special booths will be set up for information on admission requirements, financial aid, continuing education programs, and Raleigh community activities. Added features this year will be a festival of student entertainment, scheduled throughout Open House hours, and the NCSU- Maryland evening football game with tickets available to registered visitors at reduced prices. Prof. Patrick Rand of the School of Design, chairman of the 1981 Open House Committee, said these features jire added to present “tHelotal package of th lifestyle on the NCSU campus.” “We will be emphasizing every aspect of the university’s programs, resources, and activities and how they relate to student life on campus, to adult education, and to the progress of the state and the nation,” he said. “We are extremely pleased with the scheduling of student en tertainment features and with the cooperation of the City of Raleigh officials who will be on hand to inform visitors of community ac tivities.” Among the student events will be a cheerleading presentation, music and theatre programs, a modern dance show, ROTC unit drills, and physical education demonstrations. Flemming To Chair 1981 CF Campaign Steve Flemming has volunteered to serve as chairperson for the 1981 "Kiss Your Baby” Cam paign in the Tyner and Ryland areas, the N. C. Chapter, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation announced today. The campaign supports research to find a cure on control for cystic fibrosis/ the leading genetic killer o| American children, and specialized medical care for children with all lung damaging diseases in over 120 CF Centers in the United States.
