New Dental Facility Construction work on the new 3800 square foot dental offices of Drs. Hornthal and Sick was completed on October 30, well ahead of schedule. Building on the project began when Don Naeger, the foreman for Bank Building Corporation which is the planning firm based in St. Louis, Mo., and Bass Construction of Edenton broke ground at the site on July 15. The offices of the dental partnership are scheduled to move during the first week of December. New dental equipment and furnishings will be installed during the next two weeks, and equipment presently being used will be tran sferred when the offices are closed on Dec. 2,3, and 4. Patients with appointments on Dec. 7 and thereafter will be seen at the new location. The address on Mark Drive is just off the recent Hicks Street ex tension and is directly behind the Chowan Hospital. The modem Hornthal and Sick offices will have ex panded parking and handi capped facilities, a larger reception and childrens area, and several additional treatment areas. The owners have designed the building with an ‘openness concept ’, which in corporates large windows with a view into the woods, and some partial walls. The building has been planned for the comfortable use of not only the general dentistry practice of the owners, but also for the needs of the satellite practices of dental specialists who have scheduled office hours several days a month in the present Hornthal and Sick offices. Page 11-A Dr. Kenneth Manning, an orthodontist from Washington, N. C., and Dr. Jasper Lewis, a childrens dental specialist from Greenville, N. C., will continue as they have in the past to time - share in the New Mark Drive location. Plans are under way for an additional specialist’s, satellite practice in the office in the near future.
