A native of Seward, N. Y. he was the husband of Mrs. Dorothy Mosher France and the retired manager of George Flower Gas Co. of Hobart, N. Y. He was a member of Edenton United Methodist Church; St. Andrew’s Masonic Lodge in Hobart, N. Y. where he was a past master; was past Grand Swordbearer for the Grand Masonic Lodge of New York; a member and past patron of Willowemoc Chapter Order of the Easton Star; and was past Grand Lecturer and past Grand Patron of the State of New York Order of the Easton Star. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Wilde of Texarkana, Texas; a son, John K. France, Jr. of Latham, N. Y.; a grandson, Terry Douglas Lifgren of Oneonta, N. Y.; two brothers, Harold France of Sharon Springs, N. Y. and Lawrence France of California; 5 other grand children and 5 great - grandchildren. The body was sent from the Swindell - Bass Funeral Home to the Mereness Funeral Home in CobleskiU, N. Y. where a funeral was held Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. He was a native of Ports mouth and an Air Force veteran of World War H. He had retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad after 40 years and was a member of Brotherhood of American Carmen, Chapter 188. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Baines; two sons, Alee H. Baines of Moyock, N. C., and Floyd H. Baines Jr. of Chesapeake; three daughters, Vivion B. Jordan of Portsmouth, Gladys Smith Vonßerhren of California, and Patricia Smith Humphrey of Florida; a brother Jesse Baines of Edenton, N. C., 14 grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren. Collier Mrs. Deborah “Debbie" Goldman Collier, 22, of Cape Colony, Edenton died March 28 at Chowan Hospital following a sudden illness. The daughter of Wallace E. Goldman the late Mrs. Bessie Mozelle Goldman of Macon, Ga., and the wife of Linwood “Moomoo” Collier, she was a homemaker and member of First Assembly of God in Hertford, N. C. Besides her father and husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Denise Collier; three sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Barnes of Rocky Mount, N. C., Mrs. Alice Sims of Valdosta, Ga., and Mrs. Tina Everidge of Macon, Ga.; one halfsister, Mrs. Mary Jean Rackley of Moultrie, Ga.; and her brother, Wallace P. “Sonny” Goldman of Macon, Ga. Funeral services were held March 30 at 2 P.M. at International Pentecostal Church in Hertford by Rev. Sam Taylor and Rev. Charles Chappel. Mr. Moore is a Missionary of : the Presbyterian Church, U.S. in Osaka, Japan. He works as i a Chaplain in the Yodogawa Christian Hospital there. Mr. Moore and Mrs. Mallinson are cousins. Their mothers and grandmother were born in Japan of Missionary parents. Anna is a recent graduate of UNC—Greensboro.
