Thursday, July 1. 1982 Bandon Notebook Hi, Neighbors! “This is the day that the Lord hath made and I will rejoice and be glad in it”. TODAY - that is all we are promised - it is all we have. We must make the most of it. It is ours to use, to grow, to be joyful and to help others. Everyone is equgl today - we all have exactly the same amount of time, makes no difference whether you are a prince or pauper. What we do with this time is what counts. Thought by thought, word by word, deed by deed “today” is to be lived. Each passing moment IS eter nity! Each moment is a new and different experience. If you find satifaction in the moment, be grateful; if it is a moment of challenge, meet it, with God’s help; if it’s a moment bringing hard things for us to bear, we must do what has to be done. We must give to this day all the power we have - the strength, courage, wisdom, faith, love and joy of heart. We must think positive thoughts and put them into action NOW. We must make our words count - they express our feelings and cause our unspoken thoughts to take on dimension and sub stance. We must choose our words with care and wisdom, they have great power and responsibility. They can win another soul for Christ or turn people completely away from the Savior. Our words should affirm the certainty of God’s good in all people and all things ; and by using words of praise and thanksgiving we add a touch of sweetness, harmony and love to life. A small word of en couragement can inspire another soul to accomplish greatness. Share with me these words of wisdom which I found among my prayers, author unknown: “We are never farther from Truth than a thought We are never farther from love than a heartbeat We are never farther from God than a prayer. We are never farther frhffi eternity than a moment. The eternal moment is N0W...,, LIVE INJIHEJSOW.” Notice The Edenton - Chowan Board of Education will hold its regular monthly meeting at 8:00 P.M.
