THE CHOWAN HERAT.D Page 7-B Holmes Honor Roll Students GREENVILLE Eighteen high - achieving students from North Carolina and Virginia are recipients of East Carolina University Alumni Honors Scholarships. The scholarships are ECU’s most prestigious academic scholarships and are offered to entering ECU freshmen on the basis of superior scholastic achievement and Scholastic Aptitude Test scores. The awards are supported by the ECU Alumni Association and will con tinue for up to four years, dependent upon the students’ satisfactory progress and achievement during their studies here. The 18 recipients include graduates of public high schools in nine North Carolina counties, Maryland, and Virginia, as well as the new N.C. School of Science and Mathematics in Durham. Among recipients were: Eden ton - Marion Dußose Jones, daughter of Anne Jones and Allen Jones, and Karen Deneen Roberts, daughter of James and Virginia Roberts. Both are graduates of Holmes High School.
