marriage by Richard
Jackson Jr., of Edenton,
brother-in-law of the bride.
Music was presented by
soloist Amy Hoggard of
Askewville, with Maryiln
Wyrick the organist and
Amy White the pianist.
Miss Ginger Hoggard,
sister of the bride, of
Perrytown, N.C. was the
maid of honor she wore a
blue and white swiss polka
dot dress and carried a
bouquet of daisies. Glenda
Jackson of Edenton, sister
of the bride was mistress of
ceremonies. Best man was
Ricky Feher of Ahoskie,
brother of the groom. The
ushers were Ray Layton of
Edenton, brother-in-law of
the bride and Doug Mizelle
of Ahoskie.
The bride wore a formal
length gown of white chiffon
over taffeta designed with a
high neckline encircled with
Chantilly lace and crystal
pleating. The bodice
featured a sheer yoke of
illusion accented with i
Brussels lace outlined in
clipped Chantilly lace. The
sheer chiffon sleeves were |
also trimmed in the mat
ching Chantilly lace and
crystal pleating featuring 1
closure buttons The
waistline was encircled with
a satin ribbon forming a bow
at center back. The

When the most recent
meeting of the American
Legion got under way there
were several honored guest
who took the podium. They
ware the boy’s and girls who
participated in Boy’s and
Girl’s State. They had been
asked by the American
Legion to relay the ex
periences that they had
while there.
The participants wove
their story slowly as each
took a turn relaying his or
her own personal views on
Boy’s and Girl’s State. Carie
Parker gave the first thread
to the audience when he
said, “I learned a lot about
the inner workings of
government.”
Kenneth Valentine
elaborated on the first
thread when he said, “At
first, when I got there,
I thought that as a member
of government you do what

John McClure expressed a
similar point of view when
he came home and told his

Methodist Church on
Thursday Sept. 16.
Delegates from seven sub
districts were present. It
was a very informative
workshop: Mrs. C. B. Smith
was in charge of the
workshop.
Dr. Candence Corson
was the speaker. Her
subject being Nuclear
Holocost. It was a very
enlightening program. Hie
