They spent a couple of days with the actor and screen star Andy Griffith, a close friend of Mr. Daniels. The eight girls were then flown to Waikiki Beach, Hawaii for ten days. Mr. Daniels takes his employees to Hawaii yearly to show his appreciation for all the hard work they put in through out the year. Angelia Colombo Twiddy is the daughter of Mrs. Shirley Colombo of Edenton. ‘The Woodwind. Quintet To JPetfiotm The Woodwind Quintet, a newly-formed element of the U.S. Air Force Tactical Air Command Band, will make two appearances in Elizabeth City on Wednesday, Jan. 26, and on Jan. 27. Daniels, Carolina Telephone’s district commer cial and marketing manager in Elizabeth City said that the company’s total tax payment within Chowan County in cluding all city taxes is $40,683.05. County and municipal 1982 taxes paid by the company in its 50-county operating area totaled nearly SB-million. “The taxes reflect Carolina Telephone’s extensive invest ment in buildings and equip ment to provide telephone service to some 580,000 customers,” said Daniels.
