Chowan LIFE SECTION Brother Bob Massengill WGP of NC from Cary, NC, Sister Peggy Cates WGM of NC from Greensboro, NC, Sister Audrey J. Eastern Star Edenton Chapter #302 honors Anderson and Overman here On Monday, Nov. 16, Sister Inez Anderson PM and Sister Ruth Overman PM of Chowan County were each presented a 50-year Veteran’s Medal for fifty years of membership. The Veterans’ Medals were presented by Sister Peggy T. Cates, Worthy Grand Matron of North Carolina, from Greensboro. Anderson’s dau ghter Joyce Ann Yaffey of Newport News, VA pinned the medal on her. Sister Peggy T. Cates, WGM, pinned the medal on Sister Ruth Overman. Sister Inez Anderson was ini tiated into Eastern Star Esther Chapter #37 of Portsmouth, V A in 1948. She served as Worthy Matron in 1956-57. She affili ated with Edenton Chapter #302 in 1990. She has served as sec retary since 1996. Sister Ruth Overman was initiated in Eastern Star Hertford Chapter #137 in 1948 She affiliated with Edenton Chapter #302 in 1954. She served as Worthy Matron in 1971-72 and 1984-85. She alsc served as chapter secretary for 25 years.
