Co-owners Gail Finan and Deibert White are also the beneficiaries of loyal cus tomers, which includes Edenton resident Tom Moriarty “I like Creekside because of the friendly atmosphere,” Moriarty said. “You re ceive personal attention from the owners and the entire staff as well... it’s the only place in town to find good entertainment. You get what you pay for...which is great food. Delbert (White) adds that personal touch by checking on the quality of the meal.” Likewise, staff also value the atmosphere created by Finan and White. "It’s not as stressed here,” Alicia'Moore stated. “It’s a lot belter than anywhere else ” “She’s (Finan) very .easy to get along with,” Amanda Henry responded. “And when we are not super’ busy, she’s really fun. “It’s like being with a real family, everyone here is also very polite and respectful.” In agreement with Moore and Henry is fellow employee Charlotte Faircloth. “They’re (Finan and White) really welcoming and helpful in the workplace,” said Faircloth. “1 think that this experience will provide me with a sense of (the importance) of personal attention.” Since its opening in October 1998, Creekside has undergone several changes but manages to maintain a strong community.presence via its association with several chartitable events. “We feel a social responsibility to give back,” White said. “For example, dunng Hurricane Floyd (in 1999) everybody was saying that they needed a month’s notice before they could offer assistance to those who needed it.' However, they asked us at noon to prepare something, we had it at four (p.m.)” “If there’s one thing that 1 would want to say is that they are (really) involved in charity activities,” Brenda Ward replied “The things that they put back into the community are wonderful. They make a conscious effort to give back, additionally we have a charity bartender event every month.” Ward added, “a lot of people do it for the free publicity, but they do it from the heart. They have certainly proven that they’re a valuable part of the community.” Despite the current state of success. White remembers the problems encoun tered when the facility first opened its doors. “Initially it was tough, as it is with any new business,” White said “However, our supporters hung with us, hat’s off to those who are our real friends In addition, the community, for the most part, has accepted us ” In regard to the musical offerings at Creekside, they continue to provide several options for its patrons. “There have been two types of dinner theatre here, and both have been well received,” Ward said. Local talent, such as Dr. Peter Boehling, Dr. Paul Richmond, and Mike Malloy, have all been involved.” With all of the events that continuously occur at this venue, it would be easy to forget that not everyone is aware of its value, a problem that employee Tony Wilson thinks has an easy solution. “Come give it a try,” Wilson said. "I guarantee you will enjoy it.” .—-...- -. TOP SALE REALTY 431 S.
