Developing friendships requires patience and nurturing.
It’s true that the old saying, “a friend in need is a friend
indeed” is quite appropriate. A good friend is
considerate of your feelings and problems, and they are
therefor you when you need help. An act of kindness
and friendship may be as simple as visiting someone
when they are ill, driving someone to an appointment, or
just visiting and spending time with someone. The Bible
tells us that we should not forsake our friends and that a
friend loves at all times. Christ has always been our
supreme friend. He told us that He would never leave us
or forsake us. He has been our friend and helper more
than we will ever know. When Christ died on the cross
for our sins, He demonstrated the ultimate act of
love for us. Although we may not be asked
to give up our lives for our friends, our ^
Lord’s example of love and compassion
should be reflected in our daily lives.

center comes out clean, about 1
hour and 15 minutes. Cool in pan
15 minutes on a wire rack. Re
move from pan. Cool completely
on wire rack. Drizzle cake with
Peanut Butter Frosting.
Yield: 12 servings (one slice per
serving).
PEANUT BUTTER FROSTING
In saucepan over low heat, melt
1/2 cup each peanut butter and
light corn syrup. Stir in 2 cups
powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon

emony in a tent on the church
grounds.
The couple resides in Edenton.
