Jeff Shaara's Rise to Rebellion is a novel of the American Revolution and is told from the perspective of American historical figures. The book opens with the Boston Massacre when lawyer John Adams must defend the British peacekeep ers who fired op civilian colonists. The play has roles for three women — two younger, ages 25-35, and one older, perhaps 40 to 50. Also needed are five men — two younger (ages 25-35), an older gentleman to portray the IRS agent, another older man to play the part of the landlord and yet another older “mys tery man”. “Anyone will be permitted to try out, whether you’re a seasoned actor or a first-time performer," said Bud Weagly, ELT spokesman. “ Wefeel that this play, which has been described as a ‘“wild farce," is going to be a very exciting one, both for the per formers and the public."
