COMMUNITY MUSK FESTtVAL The fourth annual Community Music Festival will take place in the Waterfront Park in downtown Edenton on Saturday. June 13. from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The festival, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the Chowan Arts Council and a Grassroots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council. The event will include a variety of music from local artists', plus hamburgers, hot dogs and soft drinks will be sold by the Yeopim Ruritan Club. REPUBUCAN WOMEN'S CLUB LUNCHEON The Albemarle Republican Women's Club will hold its next meeting June 18 at noon, at Harborview Restaurant. Water Street. Edenton. Speakers will be Larry McLaughlin, candidate for Chowan County Commissioner, and Ben Hobbs. Perquimans County Commissioner, who is running unopposed in the upcoming election. AREA WRITERS MEET Area writers meet at 7 p.m. the second and fourth Thursdays of every month in the conference room at the COA Chowan campus in Edenton. Joyner of Edenton, will conduct a free concert on Sunday. June 16, at 5 p.m. at Kadesh AME Zion Church. Mrs. Wooldridge is a very talented and dedi cated vocal instructor at the George Wythe High School of the Arts. Richmond, VA. The occasion promises to be a wonderful experience for local audiences because she will be accompanied by 40 members of the George Wythe Male Ensemble and High School Gospel Choir. Under Mrs. Wooldridge's leadership, these groups conduct over forty annual appearances at churches and holiday functions. Mrs. Wooldridge is a phe nomenal woman, blessed with an ability to help young people reach their fullest potential through achievement and personal faith. She said, "People say they have different minis tries in this world; I do be lieve this is mine." Two years ago she was acknowl edged by Richmond school administrators, nonprofit education groups, and com munity leaders as one of Richmond's top 10 innova tive teachers. The evening program, hosted by the Kadesh Choir, wili feature a speciai appre ciation of love for Mr. An thony Horton, church min ister of music, and a variety of 15 student performances by the George Wythe Maie Ensemble and High School Gospel Choir. Families are cordially in vited to bring dads to this special Father's Day treat. Admission is free. Kadesh AME Zion Church, pastored by the Rev.
