CAC SENIOR ART SHOW
Chowan Arts Council in Edenton will present the 2003 John,,
A. Holmes High School Senior Art Show with work by Honors \
Studio students. Opening reception Friday, May 2, from 5-7 p.m. \
at the CAC Gallery, hosted by parents of art students. The ex-;
hibit will remain on display through May 28.

CARRIAGE RIDES
Carriage Rides providing tours of Historic Edenton will be held’
Friday, April 25, and Saturday, April 26,10 a.m. until 5 p.m., during
the Edenton Pilgrimage (weather permitting). The Edenton Car-«.
riage Company, owned by Dawn Hare, will have carriages stationed
in front of the original Chowan County Courthouse and Green.
The 15-20 minute carriage tours will focus on historical East and'
West King Streets and the Edenton waterfront (route may chance ■
depending on right of way for carriage). 1

The Albemarle Artists League will hold a Spring Art Show at ‘
112 West Water Street Friday and Saturday April 25-26,10 a.m. - 6'

CANDLELIGHT DESSERT
On Friday April 25, at 7:30 p.m. the Edenton Historical Commis
sion invites you to an after-dinner occasion at Edenton House, to I
benefit the work of the commission. You’ll enjoy: a beautiful 19th'
century house furnished in antiques of the period and illuminated
solely by candlelight; a welcome to Edenton House by owner James'
Farr as well as coffee, desserts, champagne and wine, beer and ■
sparkling waters; accomplished musician Mary Smith playing the -
harpsichord now on display at the Iredell House in Edenton. There <
will also be a lecture by Reid Thomas, architectural historian of
the NC Dept, of Cultural Resources. Cost is $20. Questions? Call *

ROTARY PANCAKE BREAKFAST
The Rotary Club of Edenton will hold their 2003 Pancake Break-'
fast on Saturday, April 26 from 7 a.m. until noon at John A. Holmes'
High School cafeteria. Tickets may be purchased from any mem-1

ANTIQUE CAR CLUB PLANS SHOW
The Freshwater Antique Car Cluj) will have its Car Show Satur-1
day, April 26, at the old Cotton Mill Ball Field in Edenton. Show
open to antique or classic vehicles 1978 or older. Registration $12
per entry Registration starts at 9 a.m. Judging at noon; trophies ‘
will be presented at 3 p.m. Dash plaques will be awarded to the
first 50 registered vehicles. No charge for spectators. Come out'
and enjoy memories of the early automobiles, as well as the

PASTA AND POTTERY FUNDRAISER
Pasta and Pottery, a Chowan Arts Council fundraiser, will be
held Saturday, April 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the American Legion build

ALBEMARLE CHORALE TO PERFORM
On Sunday April 27, the Albemarle Chorale will present excerpts -
from Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Sleepers, Wake” and Wolfgang’
Amadeus Mozart’s “Requiem”. The concert will begin at 4 p.m. at *
the Edenton United Methodist Church, 225 Virginia Road, Edenton. -
Donations will be accepted. A reception in the church fellowship,
hall will follow the perfor mance.
