The map, created by the ACN, shows estimated noise zones that would be created by Super Hornets on their way to and from the proposed Wash ington County OLF site. Based upon the Navy’s projected statements on flight paths and approach/departure routes, as well as common pilot variation from those flight paths, the map was created to show the public the areas that will most certainly be affected by jet noise, despite the Navy’s reas surances to the contrary. The map reveals high-noise levels, in places formerly thought to be out of jet fly-over noise range. Single Event Levels, the loudest jet fly-over noise, is shown on the map in decibels (dB).
