April 16 — Myisha Ly nette Basnight, 26, of South Oakum Street, was arrested on one felony count of sim ple physical assault upon an officer, one misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, and one misdemeanor count of having an expired tag. April 15 — Shenettia Denice Freeman, 47, of Mill Drive, was issued citations for simple possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and driv ing while license revoked. Master Gardener show ahead BY KATY SHOOK For the Chowan Herald The 7th annual Albemar le Master Gardener Spring Garden Show is Saturday, April 29 from 9 am. to 3 p.m. at the Perquimans County Recreation Center in Hertford. Hosted by the Chowan, Gates and Perquimans County Extension Mas ter Gardener volunteers, the event is free and proceeds will support a scholarship for area stu dents pursuing advanced degrees in agriculture or horticulture. Highlights of the event include a Master Garden er plant sale, bake sale, raffle, children’s corner, educational exhibits, and over 30 vendors selling a variety of plants, goods, and crafts. Lunch will be catered by 252 Grill of Hertford. Master Gardeners will also be on hand to answer gardening questions and speak about topics like planting for pollinators. The theme of this year’s show is Seed Em and Reap.
