in ferry

Town officials are con
sidering the possibility
of joining forces with a
regional effort to bring
a tourism-oriented ferry
system to Edenton and
other nearby communi
ties.
During discussion at the
town council’s March 26
work session, town man
ager Anne-Marie Knigh
ton expressed excitement
about the idea’s potential
and recommended that
the town invite Dr. Nick
Didow to present infor
mation concerning the
Harbor Town project to
local officials and citizens
as well as those from oth
er nearby communities
that may be interested in
learning more about the
concept. Didow is a busi
ness professor at the Uni
versity of North Carolina-
Chapel Hill.
“I think that would be
the next logical step,” she
said.
Last month he present
ed his ideas to officials
in Pasquotank County.
