This year, the Boys and Girls Club Summer Camp is slated to serve 51 chil dren. The donations from the three churches will be used to purchase supplies, fund trips and provide healthy lunches for the children. When school starts this fall, BGC hopes to increase its annual af ter-school enrollment of roughly 75-80 children. Brothers clarified, “Last year, we had 110 [chil dren] on our roster, but we serve 80 per day.” The Boys and Girls Club of the Albemarle — with locations in Eliza beth City and Chowan County — has been shaping children’s lives for several years.
