"There-.' re v.- i.avht to five mere diifcg?rj hfod to the things which we have setn and heard le -1 haply we drift away from them.' A uA.ro pKu.ro of a drifting Ch:?stian was presented by vividly portraying a d:iz"ting boiit and comparing an unar.chored Christian to th..-, floating downstream boat. Five scriptural admonitions against drifting were piesented. These are found n Matthew 20:41; 1 Corinthians 10:12; 1 Timothy 0:12; 1 Timothy x;o; r^pncsians and these admonitions p->ir?t out the folly of an alliance with ihe wo:Id, the Tles'n and satun. They also bring us face to face with our greatest danger. The second part of the sermon was given over entirely to rdiowing how this drifting comes to Christians. The five-fcld answer \va:- given with vivid illustrations which we must omit for lack of space. They truly flood the sermon with light as windows a building. First, a Christian drifts when he fails to give attention earnestly to the duties and habits of the Cfc'-isIxui li&a> This is brought about through fteglect of grayer, Bible reading and church attendance. Neglect these and drifting is sure to follow^ Second, a Christian is somctirms caused tx> drift because of businesr reverses.
