Old Bald seemed to greet me again. Double Knobs s .tiled a chcery eood morning:. Xo wonder they guide me thru pain, Thru pleasure, thru gladness, and sori ow, (Thru heartaches, thru tiials and tear? Thru toiling, hard work and endur ance. Toward victory in future years. They tower in majestic greatness. They sparkh at dawn with the dew, Thev'n calm in the heat of the noon day sun At sunset they're beautiful too; Tho they he robed with snow in win ter. Or colored with flowers in spring. That sweet, silent voice will call me So strangely, again and again. "Twas s;inset when first I arrived here Then twilight began to fall. While th purple haze was cree>'ng Up the sides of the valley wall. Diana in all of her glory Ros. up from the gap between The well trodden trails of old Cedar And Double Knobs so green. Then gazing in rapture and wondc r Alone in a seat I fell. j Far up from the slopes came the call of Th. woodland whip-por-will. The nicht insects san*r their melodies The birds joined in the refrain I'ntil my tired soul was rested From life in this old world of sin. I sat midst this stillm ? and beauty As the night slowly advanced ' A fueling of loneliness grasped me And nature hold nit- entranced. After lingering awhile in these wood lands T slowly wandered back home, ? Still hearing the call of the moun tains: "Climb yet up to higher things! Come !" I In years to come, dear old mountain?. When all my life's journey is run. j And I have faced all its battles \nd they've been fought and won f will come back to my d ar old com i panions. Vour rugged old trail I will roam, j And give thank- and praise to our Father Till He takts us to heaven, our home. ? Tht> Knotah Fchoes. When a wife hits a husband, plop goes the weasel.
