Adams Entertain Mr. an J Mrs. Zala Adams entertained with two tables of bridge at their h rr. <?: Thursday evening to honor Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Humprheys, of Tampa, Fla., guests of Mr. and Mrs. B:rt Wheeler. A yellow and white color m.tif was featured in the flowers and refreshments. Tall vases of yellow and white gladoli and oldfashioned low bowls of scent, d double nasturtiums were attractively arranged. At the conclusion of the game* ar. ice course consisting of block ice cream, klondike cake and coffee was serve i. Mints were served during the games. Those invited w?r: Mr. and Mrs. Eugno Humphreys, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Nichols, Mrs. H. E. Davis, and Mrs. A. B. Chandler. Bishop Paul B. Kern To Preach Sunday Bishop Paul B. Kern resident Methodist bishop of Greensboro, will preach at the 11 o'clock service Sunday morning, August 12th, at the Method-st church. This will be Bishop Kern's first visit to this section since his assignment to North and S^uth I < inn. Mrs. Bellamy Hostess To Missionary Society Mrs. N. C. Bellamy was hostess to the regular monthly meeting of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Methodist church at h r home on Wednesday afternoon. The dtvotional was led by Mrs W G. McFarland Sr. Mrs. John H. Christy Jr., president. presided over the business ses sion which preceeded the program on "Missions in Korea." A special featur. of the program was a vocal - do, "Beautiful Garden of Peace" by Miss Louise Reese, of Birmingham, Ala. She was accompanied by Mrs. N. C. Bell rniy at the piano. Tenn. where he has been engaged in a revival meeting for the past two weeks. A faculty from ;he Andrews Baptist church was chosen to assist Mr. Maurice Blanchard, the principal, with the school. Classes are heid each morning from 9 until 12 o clock and will continue for o days. Commencement exercises will be .held Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. Forty pupils are enrolled. Those as-dsting Mr. Blanchard are: Misses Isabel Bradley, Corena Truett, Edna Pattlra.n, Bonnie Rector, Hazel Hyde and Violet Spivey. Miss Mary B. Walker entertained the members of her Sunday School class with a picnic and water nielon cutting at "Oakwood Heights" Monday afternoon. She was assisted by Miss Melba Greer. Tatham Family To Hold Reunion August 1 2 Following a custom inaugurated over a century ago. The annual Tatham reunion will be held Sunday. August 12, at the old Tatham hom toad, about a mile from Andrews. Dinner will be served picnic style and a:! numbers 01 ine Tatham family and their friends are invited to attend and bring a basket lunch. Rev. H. C. Christy Family To Hold Reunion August 1 9 Members of the Christy family are airiving daily to attend the Christy r.union to he held August 19th. About 25 have arrived and are eni -ying a house party at f?he Bryson hotel. Others a?e expected from North and South Carolina and Tennessee. Baptist Training School Started Monday The annual Teacher's Training ehool of the Baptist church was started Monday evening in l.he Ladies parlor at the B iptist church. The study book. "Sunday School Manual" by Spillman-Leorell-Burrough's will be u-ed. A number of the teachers were .i!oiled. Mr. Vrurice Blanchard is teaching the class. This study course v ill continue through Friday evening. Examinations will be given and seals awarded.
