LOCAL SCOUTS HOLD COURT OF HONOR MEETING Four local Boy Scouts were given certificates of promotion from the j tenderfoot class to the second class at a Court of Honor meeting in the Methodist church here Friday night. Cole and Sepnus White, who were seriously injured when a car in which they were riding and which was driven by Forest Teague crashed into a telegraph pole in East Murphy Saturday noon, w re said by Petrie .ho-pital attendants Wednesday night to be "resting comlortably" although not much charge har been noted in their condition. Both men received severe injuries t > the head and abdomen and WhiU suffered a broken leg and thigh. The car, heading toward town, was said by witnesses to be going at a rapid rate when apparently the driver was unable to make a curve and struck the pole demolishing the caT. Teague suffered only slight bruises and cuts. Teague, who was lodged in jail by Chief of Police Fred Johnson after wreck pending the outcome of the men's conditions, was released under Si000 bond Tuesday. W. R. Herring, who was Teported to have been in the car during the crash, was round upon questioning to nave not b:en with the men at that time. PLANS TO OPEN NEW THEATER WEEK OF JUNE 17 Many more letters poured into the Scout office this week suggesting names for the theater which P. J. Henn is now completing: and which he plans to open during: the week of June 17. No one name as yet seems to have an advantage over another although more than 300 letters and suggestions have been made by the people of Cherokee. Graham and :srroundihg counties. Kveryone mailing a name to the Scout will be given a free ticket to one of the .-hows after the theater is opened and one person will receive a six-month's pass. Only one name can be suggested by each person. More than .100 spring-bottom -cats were being placed in the theater this wtek and interior and exterior painting and decorating is being done.
