A. G. Roberts, green vegetable
uarketing agent of the TVAC in this
istrict, whose office is in Waynesille,
met with the Mountain Valley
Vsspciation Cannery directors in the
ounty agents office in the court
ouse here Thursday evening to discuss
his plans.
In lieu of the fact that the TVAC
Is furnishing those holding cannery
contracts with late tomato plants,
he said he was arranging to dispose
of them in out-of-town markets at
good prices. He is planning the
ame action for disposal of beans.
When the nearby markets are flooded,
he said, he wond Sell to the larger
city markets.
The farmers would pick the tomatoes
at a blush-red stage and they
would be shipped to Murphy where
they would be graded ana repacked
for shipping to the markets he added.
"No farmer in this county should
be uneasy". K. R. Thompson, cannery
manager, said Friday, "as all
tomato and bean acreage contracted
'or. will be deposed of at maximum
