Only one possible i, improvement?"washed air". , ^| "Okay" said Preston, succinctly, !' r "we'll fit 'hat quicker than a gal can 11 t. ,hary ' her mind." And that same ? i< ^B day a contract was signed for the !' latent thing in air conditioning. And ~ B so: by the end of the month, or per- " * fl hap- sooner, petrous of the Henn 'i | theater will breathe air that has B ..th cooled, and washed. That '' :s t" say, it will be blown over ice, " | .in.! then filtered. There will oe a e complete change of air every minute and a quarter?and there will be " H absolutely no draft. The new plant ? B costs several hundred dollars but it | is guaranteed plu-perfectly. Any L' || germ that tries to enter the Henn ' M theater will just naturally be com- 1 <9 mining suicide. t Meanwhile the screen offering to9 day and tomorrow, with a matinee at 2:30 this afternoon, is a picture 'M hased on recent history that will | grip you, and hold you fast, for n , variety of reasons. It is called "The 1 | Prisoner of Shark Island", and it J | tells the story of Dr. Samuel Alex- ? 1. under Mudd who bound up Booth's p ! | broken leg after the latter had shot v ; H President Lincoln. Dr. Mudd, living ^ . several miles outside Washington, j | did not know the identity of his pati- a I ent; did not even know, the time, p | B Lincoln had been shot?for there were no telephones, nor "extra" edi-1 a ti?' - then. But that didn't save $ hiiu. He was condemned to "Shark j Island", a place of terror off the j Florida coast, surrounded by a moat ( fil!nl with man eating sea-tigers. 3 The picture details his trial, and p su'?sequent torture. The first scene e i i Appamatox. Then the assassination, then Booth's escape, and so p e It is a regiment of living his- Sl t : v that oldsters will weep over, c a that the younger generation will Sl t ill to with every nerve in their j j, lies. \\ Saturday, matinee and night. "The a .ah Guy" comes to town. That t . n happens factually here in a \M ! Usually the tough guy i afoul of Chief of Police Fred n son, and goes home much tamer [ | I also considerably poorer. But js tl a the Henn theater, "The Tough II Guy" is that young genius of the v p| een, little Jackie Cooper, Jackie t, fe east in the role of one Frederick (j ? art judaic Vincent 2nd, son of a l( I i idionaire, who gets fed up on be- q II i * treated like a hot house orchid. r, V . i so runs away and joins up with ft ML -and of ~v?ung hoodlums. It comes to you r< H n -xt Monday and Tuesday, with a f. matinee on Monday, in the form of js H a picture called "We Three"*. This H is a screen adaption of that knock- b H out stage play, which ran for more b; R than a year on Broadway, called "The b kChildrens' Hour". So iuch to the contrary, in fact, that ot of mealy-mouthed "holier than hou" bigots in New York tried to lake the police chase it out of town. In the screen version, the oriior.al theme, based on perversion erverted love, has been straightened ito normal channels. The result is picture with a lesson. Summed up : shows how gossip and lies wreck appiness. A heart gripping ro. lance, this, packed with grim tragdy born of a horrific wedlock of alsehood and slander. It is not imrobable that you personally know f some case the picture fits almost xactly. And send the youngsters by all leans. It will teach them the evil f lies in way they are not apt to orget. Perhaps, too, you know some rown-ups that you'll want to take o see it, for the same reason. Why, his picture would even have helped his writer?only he is beyond aid.
