Prepare For Softball
Season Opening Here
The soft ball season is about to
open. O. D. Johnson is getting the
diamond scraped and rolled and many
oi the players started practicing Monday.
This practice period will last
until April 1, at which time players
will sign up for various teams and
games will start.
There will be a six team league
again this year. Last year's champions
were the Dam Construction
team. I

Ping Pong Tourney
Is Organized Here
A ping pong tournament was start?d
Monday night with 32 entries. The
four best players in camp?the three
former champions, Joe Patchen, Dr.
M. Howard, Donald Gumprecht, and a
newcomer, Warren Sullivan?will be
teamed with the other players.
The last tournament held several
months ago was won by Donald Gum.

The Athletic club is sponsoring a
dance which wLl be heid Saturday,
March 26, in the auditorium of the
community building:. Music v.iil be
furnished by A. M. Mclnturf and his
orchestra of Chattanooga, who have
played for many TV A dances in Chattanooga

Proceeds from the dance will be us.

The dance will begin at nine o'clock
and last until twelve.
The tennis court was crowded over
the week-end and many players waited
several hours for a chance to play.
Next week the croquet court will be
ready and also the yaddle tennis

accused of conspiracy during the
American railway strike in 1894; of
John T. Scopes, defendant in the
famous Tennessee "monkey trial" and

as unfortunates" had been

never lost his interest in world affairs
nor in the cause of the "underdog."
