FOR REPRESENTATIVE IN THE
NEXT GENERAL ASSEMBLY,
NORTH CAROLINA
I am a candidate for Representative
of Cherokee county in the next General
Assembly of North Carolina sub- \
ject to the action of the Democratic
Primary.
If nominated and elected I will do
the best I can for the citizens of my
county.
There has been too much property
sold for taxes lately and there should j
be something done about that if pos-r
sible. Our taxes are too high. Many
of the states exempt homes and farms ;
from taxation up to a certain amount, j
usually fom One Thousand Dollars to
Twenty.five Hundred Dollars and I
do not understand why our state
should not do this also. ,
I am ready to discuss any matters
with citizens of my county at any ,
time or anywhere.
J. N. MOODY.
o
"T hereby announce my candidacy
for the Representative of Cherokee
county in the next General Assembly
of North Carolina subject to the action
of the Democratic primary. I make'
my announcement at the solicitation
and encouragement of many Demorat
ic friends.
"If I am nominated and elected. I
shall endeavor honestly and faithfully
to represent the people of Cherokee
county and to cooperate with the
other members of the Legislature in
securing those measures which are in
keeping with the will of the people."
J. Franklin Smith
o
"I am a candidate for Clerk of the
Superior Court for Cherokee County
subject to the action of the Democratic
Primary to be held June 4th.
"If nominated and elected 1 will use
every effort to fill the ofice in an efficient,
honorable and courteous manner.
I also advocate the return of this
office to a fee basis thereby reliev.
ing the taxpayers of an imposed burden
and will use my influence to that
end.
"Your support is solicited and will
be appreciated."
