Try CARDUI! tee Scout, Murphy, North Arthur Martin, 53, of Murphy, Dies on Friday Funeral services for Arthur B. Martin, 53-year-old Murphy resident were conducted from the Martins Creek Baptist church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. Alga West officiating. Interment was in the Martins Creek cemetery. Townson Funeral Home, of Murphy, was in charge oi funeral arrangements. Mr. Martin died Friday evening. He had been a life-long resident of Cherokee county and was a member of the church from which he was buried. Pallbearers were: W. G. Holland, Gus Morris, Howard Martin, Boyd Chastain, Lee Owenby and Bill Siuicup. Surviving are: his widow, Mrs. Ella Martin; four daughters, Mrs. John Queen, of Asheviile, Mrs. Vaughn Kicks, of Murphy, and Misses Jean and Margaret Martin; three sons, Haven, W. J., and Ben Martin; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Martin, and a sister, Mrs. Dillard Carringer. Conley, of Saginaw, Mich, is visiting friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Roberts returned to their home in Asheville afte visiting Mrs. W. E.O Ferguson. Miss Eloise Witt spent Tuesday and Wednesday in Asheville. The Y. W. A. met at the* home of Miss Dale Sudderth Saturday night. An interesting program was given.
