Unit Demonstration Farmers Urged To File Record Books AU unit demonstration farmers in the county have been advertised by county agent A Q Ketner to turn in their record books before January 1. 1941. in order to be eligible for ?he TVA phosphate allotments. There are 61 such demonstration farmers in the county, each one keeping a record book of all receipts and costs for every farming activity and operation during the past year. By this method an accurate check can be made on the profitableness of farming. Such practices have shown an act ual good benefit for these fanners ; during the past year. During 1931 > only 33 farmers were keeping record ' books Their records showed such clear cut profit? ?h?t the plan was adopted by 33 others who. with the exception of one or two who dropped out. brought the 1939 number of demonstration farmers up to 61. Meetings were held in Peachtree. Martins Creek and Maggie's Chapel communities for the benefit of area demonstration farmers in the var ious watershed areas during the psrst week. Progress reports were made out at these meetings and filed with the county agent in order that each of these persons would be eligible to receive the phosphate under the new year plan. Many of those who were unable or for imv reason failed to attend these meetings, were advised by Mr. Ketner to file his report at the coun ty agent's office in time to be elig ible for the phosphate. ? o J.OWER MARTINS CREEK NEWS Prank Ineram who is employed at Fort Bragg Is spending the holidays here with his family.
