Announcement Made of Miss Willa Mae Kephart Coming Marriage Of Bride of Lloyd Lovin Miss Kate Padeett Mi. and Mrs. B. L. Padgett, of Mu:pli.v. announce the engagement of their daughter, Kate, to Pvt. Hugh E Hensley. son of Mrs. Vesta Hensley. also of Murphy and the late ii. H. Hensley. of Rossville. CKi. Tile marriage to take place in Colorado the early part of next week. Miss Padgett Is a graduate of Mur phy high school and Is at present employed in her fathers office of register of deeds in County Court Mr. Hensley attended Murphy high at Camp Carson. Colorado. He was .school and is now in the U. S. Army, inducted into the army or. April 6th of this year and sen tto Ft. Bragg, N. C. Prom there he left for Ft. Sill. Okla. Miss Padgett will leave Murphy Sunday accompanicd by her sister, Mrs. John Posey, Jr.. to join Mr. Hensley in Colorado where the mar riage will take place immediately. Methodist Church Circle 4 Has Meeting Circle 4 of the Methodist church met with Mrs. John McOulre Tues day afternoon. The letson, "Studies in the Psalms" was given by Mies Bessie MtoJtnnre and Miss Nannie West. After the study Mrs. McQuii*. as sisted by Mrs. James Barnett and Miss Bessie Mallonee, served deli cious refreshments. Those present were: Mrs. Hattie Akin. Mrs. W. M. Axley, Mrs. A. M. Brittain. Miss Kate Axley. Mrs. Neil Davidson, Mrs. ft. B. Ferguson. Mis. P. C Gentry, Mrs. Frank Battle, Mrs. Mellie Miller, Miss Nannie West, Mrs. Vance Wilson. Mrs. James Barnett. Miss Bessie Mallonee, Mrs. Curd was a visitor. Mrs. Annie Wtlkirw from Los An gels. Calif., returned home this week after spending two weeks here with friends and relatives. Mrs. Wilklns is the former Miss Annie Swain. Mr. Jack Burnett of Newport. Tenn.. spent last week-end here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Bar nett. The many friends of Mrs. Rob Foard will be sorry to hear she is ill in a local hospital. Mrs. G-aorge Leatherwood of Arl ington, Va? is visiting friends and relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Verlon Crisp of Le noir, Tenn.. spent last week-end here with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Barton and sons, H. A. and Jack have returned to their home in Norfolk, Va., after a visit here with friends and rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Patton who have resided in Murphy for the past year have been transferred to Mur ray, Ky. Mr. Patton is with the TVA. Mrs. L. T. Burger and granddaugh ter, Faye Nell Dunoan of Rome, Ga.. were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Barton last week. Mr. and Mrs Clyde Walls left this week for Ellzabethton, Tenn., where Mr. Walls was transferred with the TVA. Mrs. Jack Roberson spent last Fri day at Hlwassee Dam with her sis ter in law, Mrs. James M. Roberson Mr. Lewis Shields left Sunday lot the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Miss Thamasine Stay ton left this week for Chape! Hill to enter the University of North Carolina. James Shields left this week for Wake Forest College. Miss Ann Hill is visiting In At lanta.
