Withe row. son of Mrs. Tilda Mae Parrish. joined the army July 1942 and was sent to Elgin Field. Fla. where he re mained almost a year. He was made corporal last spring. He was formerly of Midway and he is now overseas. Club Women Receive Special Honors And Awards For Their Efforts During The Past Year | The home demonstration club j women in Clherokee county have been mobilizing for the last two months for more members. Lloyd was aboard a ship which [ was recently torpedoed. He was among the few who survived, and | was in the water for more than 16 hours before he drifted to shore on an island. Lloyd is 19 years of age. and joined the navy March 20. 1943. He took his boot training at Bain ?bridge. Md.. and had naval aimed ?uard training at Little River. Va. He was graduated from Mur phy high school in the class of 1943.
