Sr., general superintendent of the Nantahala Power plant on the Nantahala River at Beechertown. was speaker at the Andrews Rotary club Thursday of last week. This was Mr. Butler's maiden speeeh as J a Rotarian. He talked on con- j tomplated developments that the I Nantahala Power & Light Comp any plan in this region. The first on the list is that at Queen s Creek. This will be a small plant, ' comparatively speaking, develop ing 2.000 horsepower as compared with the Nantahala plant which develops 60.000 horsepower. Mr. Butler stated that the power company eventually expects to make developments at Dick's Creek and White Oak Creek. He then gave a technical and general de scription of the Nantahala plant. 4-11 CLUB MEETS ANDREWS ? The 4-H club met in the high school building on Thursday, April 17. "It's Tough To Be Rich", a comedy in three acts, was the title of the senior play which was given by a cast of eleven ! characters in the school auditorium he re on Friday night, April 18. j The play was under the direction | of Miss Jean Christy, senior spon : or. assisted by I. B. Hudson. Those taking part were: Jack . Rogers. Mr. Ross" the husband, t the wife, Joy Pullium. Their daughters, Frances Jane Phillips and Mary Abernathy. Dorothy Rector, the wealthy aunt: Boyd Rogers, the elder daughter's suitor. John Christy played as an ex-con vict, Martha Caldwell, a social worker, and Annie Nelson as the ex-convict's accomplice. Mary Long, a friend of the aunt, and Clyde Luther, a bill collector. Three cash prizes were offered to those in the cast who excelled in their respective roles. The first prize of $5. given by the Citizens Bank & Trust Company, went to John Christy. Jr.: the second prize of S3 by Battle Hardware and Furniture Company went to Mary Abernathy, and the third prize of $2 by Nantahala Power and Light Company went to Frances Jane Phillips, and a fourth prize of $2 was presented by L. B. Nichols to Jack Rogers. A second performance of the play was given Monday afternoon in the auditorium for the high school and grammar grades. Receipts Friday night amounted to $97.95 and for Monday aftcr l.oon $52.30. making total receipts $151.05. Andrews Personals!
