At the business session each member pledged to be responsible for $5 to be brought to the next meeting to help pay for robes for the junior choir of the Methodist church. The Guild discussed sending some one to the conference of the Woman's Society of Christian Ser vice which will be held in Ashe ville, April 13, 14, and 15, but no one was appointed at this time. During the social hour, pie and coffee were served to approxi mately 30 members. Three new members, Mrs. Charles Worthen, Miss Ella McCombs and Mrs. E. G. Hughes were enrolled. Fidelis Class Hears Review Of "Ideas Have Legs" "Ideas Have Legs" by Peter Howard was reviewed by the Rev. ?I. Alton Morris at the monthly meeting of the Fidelis Sunday School class Monday evening in the home of Mrs. W. A. Hoover. Mrs. Rae Moore read the scrip ture and presided over a business session. Mrs. Hoover, assisted by Mrs. E. A. Browning, served an ice course. Those oresent, besides the above, were: Mesdames J. W. Davidson, Kenneth Davis, Bill ' Gentry, J. W. Donley. W. S. Dick ey, S. S. Mrs. Laura Freeman left last week for Raleigh where she is taking a refresher course in wel fare work. She was accompanied to Raleigh by Mrs. Tom Mauney who will visit her son, Richard Mauney. and family for several days. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weaver 1 were in Atlanta Saturday. ? Judy Davis Is Honored At Party Mrs. Loren Davis entertained Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock with a birthday party honoring her daught??r, Judy, on her eighth birthday anniversary. The home was decorated throughout in the I Easter motif with rabbits, nests filled with eggs, and spring flow ers. The dining table covered with a rayon cloth was centered with i the white birthday cake, topped with eight pink candles, flanked by pink candles in crystal hold ers. At each end of the table was a nest filled with Easter eggs. Pink and blue rabbits were used as favors. An egg hunt and other games were played. Mrs. Davis was as sisted in entertaining by Mrs. Hob Taylor. Ester refreshments were served. Those attending the party were: Nancy Lee Mills, Glenda Mills, Judy and Jane Cook, Sarah Kim sey, Ann Parker, Margaret Beal. Linda English, Patsy Taylor. Sher ry Hampton, Ruth and Carolyn Bates. Don Taylor, Tom my Moore and Betty Weaver. 4-H Club Meets By SALLIE BELLE FERGLSON The Poachtrec 4-H club met Monday morning at nine o'clock in the school dining room. The meeting was called to order by Anne Ruth Stiles, club president. The members stood and repeated the 4-H pledge and motto. Then the song leaders led the members in singing "Long, Long Ago." After that Mack Patton discussed the subject of Irish Potatoes and told how to cut and plant them. Jerry Hall gave a short demonstra tion on dairy farming and discuss ed the importance of keeping the milk free from dust and bacteria. Joe Axley was able to come to town and mingle with his friends last week after having been con fined to his bed for several weeks. J. W. Clayton of Brasstown who underwent a major operation at Petrie hospital last week, is re ported to be improving. Mrs. U. K. Hyatt of Hayesville was dismissed from Petrie hos pital Wednesday where she had been for three weeks following a major operation. Miss Mary Elizabeth Jones who has been a patient at Dr Whit field's hospital for the past week, was reported to be feeling much better Wednesday. Mrs. J. L. Savage was able to return home Wednesday after several days illness at Petrie hos pital. Karl Weiss will leave Friday for Salt Lake City. Mrs. Weiss will accompany him as far as Atlanta. Mr. Weiss plans to build a home in Salt Lake City and Mrs. Weiss j will join him there when school close . Mrs. L E.
