Boyd Abernathy Is taken By Death Saturday Ni^ht Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the First Methodist church here for Boyd Abernathy. 61. who died in an Asheville hospital Saturday night. August 7, about 10 o'clock. The Rev. Alfred Smith and the Rev. \V. B. Penny officiated. Burial was in Sunset cemetery with Ivie funeral home in charge. Born May 18. 1887, the son of the late Dr. Jacob Forney Aber nathy and Victoria Hennessa Abernathy, he was reared in 1 Murphy. Surviving are two daughters, j Mrs. King Walker of Knoxville. Tenn . and Peggy Jean Abernathy of Dillard. Ga and one son. Hir am Dillard Abernathy of Dillard. Ga three sisters Mrs. J. H ' Phaup. Mrs. Fred Johnson. Sr.. : and Mrs. W J Adams, all of , Murphy. West enlisted in the Army in January. 1947. completed train ng at Fort Lewis. Wash., and came over to join the 1st Cavalry Division in Japan in August. 1947 Mr. and Mrs. Hubert B.
