Revival At Andrews Methodist
Church Will Begin On April 24
ANDREWS ? A series of revival 1
services will begin in Andrews
Methodist church Sunday. April
24 with the 1 1 o'clock service and
Mill continue through May 4.
The guest minister for these ser
vices is Dr John R. Church, gener
al fvengaUst of the Methodist ,
church Dr. Church is a former
pastor of 'he church in Andrews.
He came to Andrews in the fall of
192T> and served for .three years.
Dr Church joined the Western N.
C. conference of the Methodist
church in 1922 and served as a
pastor until 1934 when he entered
upon general and conference
evangelistic work. He is called
upon for evangelistic work in all
parts of the United States and has
been successful in this work.

Methodist church met at the home
of Mrs. Zeb Conley Wednesday
afternoon. April 6. at 3 o'clock,
with Mrs. Henry Trotter as asso
ciate hostess.
Mrs. Joe Smith had charge of
the devotional which opened with
a prayer, followed by a poem The
subject was "Everything to Every
one."
Mrs. Dave Swan, using the sub
ject "Light in Latin America"
told of the experiences her daugh
ter and son-in-law encountered
while in Brazil for two years in
connection with the lesson mater
ial.
Announcement was made of the

Rodda-Van Gorder hospital.

Mrs. Edwin Bristol who has
been very ill with mumps is able
to be out again
Mrs. Horace Higdon who under
went an operation at Rodda-Van
Gorder hospital this week is much
improved at this writing.
Dr. Chas. O. Van Gorder. who
has been a patient in the hospital
for two days, was able to resume
his duties Tuesday
James Dula of Robbinsville. who
was injured in an automobile acci
dent last week, was able to return
to his home a few days ago.

Music Club met Saturday after
noon at the home of Mrs. J. G.
Carrier, club counselor, with Miss
Betty Jean Greenwood, president,
presiding.
"Hymns" was the subject for the
meeting.
Miss Carolyn Dupree, of the
junior magazine committee, con
ducted two religeous music quiz
zes. and Miss Carolyn Lime gave
the annotated notes on the hymns
used for the program

school April 8.
The meeting was opened with
the 4-H motto and pledge.

in the Naval Reserve Officers'
