of their daughter, Maureen Lovin
good, to Lt. George Gardner
Dunn, son of the late William E.
Dunn and Mrs. L. L. Emerson of
Demarest, N. J.
The marriage took place Decem
ber 20, 1949, at First Methodist
Church, Columbia, S. C.
The double ring ceremony was
performed by the Rev. William
Gleaton, the pastor, before an im
provised altar banked with palms
and lighted tapers.
The bride, escorted by professor
Hubert Spigner of the University
of South Carolina, wore a chain
pagne color nylon net, ankle length
dress lmbelllshed with lace. She
wore a satin color headdress with
matching gloves, and carried a
white prayer book topped with a
purple orchid.
Miss Kathleen Ward of Ed en ton,
was maid of honor. Other attend
ants were Misses Marvis Kells of
Timmonsville, S. C? and Ann
Cooke eof Wades/boro, who wore
brown dresses and carried nose
gays of yellow roses.
The bride's mother wore a
brown ensemble with a corsage of
pink roses.

a pot luck supper will be served,

Mrs. Dunn is a graduate of Mars
Hill College and will receive her
degree from the University of
South Carolina in Columbia this
month.
Lt. Dunn attended Penmington
Preparatory School, N. J., and
graduated from U. S. M. M. A.
Kingspoint, Long Island, N. Y.
During the recent war he serv
i ed aboard a transport in the Paci
fic which participated in the inva
sion of two Jima and Okinawa.
He is at present a naval officer
at the University of South Caro
lina Naval School.
Immediately following the cere
mony the couple left for a two
weeks' wedding trip to New York.
For traveling Mrs. Dunn wore
a purple wool suit with pale pink
accessories, and her corsage was
the orchid from her prayer book.
Lt. and Mrs. Dunn are now
residing in Columbia but will
leave in February for a permanent
residence In Monterey, Calif.

given an honorable discharge from
the club and presented a gift. No
married persons are eligible for
membership in the club.

MEETING POSTPONED
The meeting of Murphy Woman's
Club which was scheduled for
Wednesday of this week, has been
postponed until Wednesday, Janu
ary 25, because of the funeral of
J. Burke Gray, Mrs. H. Bueck,
president, announced.
The meeting will be held at 3:15
F. M. the 25th in the primary
school assembly room.
