"Am I a lion?" "Lions hove pledged themselves to be careful with criti cal and liberal with praise?to build up and not destroy, and yet too often we are guilty of defray ing a person by gossiping When you hear malhaious goseltk <2out repeat it unless you know it is so onlees you know it will help some body. and unless you know it will not hurt anybody. It is too often hue that if a man lives in a com munity a long number of years and is an upright, honest, useful ejten all that time, no person ever comes to hiim and puts his hand on his shoulder and tells him how much he means to the com munity, but let him make one mis take and the gossips set out to ieSroy him, instead of going to him and helping ten." He quoted the following poem: Bauy a good man is ruined, And many a good woman, too By someone starting a rumor, And nit one word of it true. Bo when you hear someone knock ing A man or a woman's good name. Bet it's a lie?forget it, Never repeat it again. Tile district governor urged the Uons to be god citizens by assum ing their responsibility of serving ?Jury duty. He told the Lions that giving Qtristmas gifts with the idea of letting as much or better in re ign is not true friendship.
