First Recreation Program Now Underway At Robbinsville Gyi

Robbinsville's drat summer re
creation program got underway
here last week for an eight weeks
program of recreation for all ages.
Steered by the Qreham County
Recreational Association, the di
rectors of the program are Del
mar Wiles and Mrs. Opal Long,
both teachers at the Robfainsvllle
School.
Hours for supervised sports and
games are 9:30-11:30 a. m.; 1:30
4:30 p. m.; and 9:00-3 p. m. at the
gym. Some of the sports included
are baseball, tennis, volley ball,
and horeahoes in addition to spec
ial events.
The association listed its goal
as designed to appeal to all ages
and afford wholesome recreation
as well as to develop leadership,
cltixenship and character of the
young people.
The program was financed by
support from civic organizations
and individual citizens.
Tournaments will be conducted
in the sports and the schodule also
includes a pet and doll show, in
struction in arts and crafts, mov
ies, both quiet and active gtmee
and picnic outings.
Meeting Set At
Fontana Church
A series of evangelistic meet-:
ings will be held at the Fontana'
Community Church June 28-July
9 with the Rev. L. G. Meadows of
Springfield, Mo., preaching.
The services will be held daily
the pastor. the Rev. George '
Schults said.
The church is now working on
enlarging its auditorium and add
lng Sunday Schools rooms. The
project is expected to be complet
ed around the end of July.
Fontana Group
At Luncheon
Mrs. S. R. Miller entertained
at a luncheon at the Fontana Vil
lage Cafeteria Thursday honoring
Mrs. Harry Fronheiser of Phila
delphia, Pa. and Miss Hilda Weng
of Drexel Hills, Pa.
Mrs. Fronheiser and Miss Weng
are the sister and cousin, respect'
ively, of Mrs. George Schultz.
They were the houseguests of Rev,
and Mrs. Schultz last week.

Swimming Pool Being
Made At Fontana
A large swimming pool is now
under construction at Fontana Vll

Paying For Caps
Graham County will discontinue
paying tor wildcat, tox and hawk
caps on July 1, C. P. Sawyer,
county accountant said last week.
After July 1 the county will not
pay tor wildcat, tox and hawk
caps.

Held Twice Weekly
The American Legion Poet ia
sponsoring two square dances
weekly thruogh the summer.
The dances are held each Wed
nesday and Saturday at the Legion
Hall. Admission is 54 cents per per

Open On Square
The tourist Information booth,
sponsored by the Graham County
Highlanders. Is now being manned
on the courthouse square for some
seven hours daily.
Mrs. Cecil Rice is at the booth
from 1 p. m. until dark giving in
formation.
The little white frame building
was used for the first time year be
fore last, but last summer was not
operated as an Information booth.
It returned to the square a few
weeks ago.
