Owen, the former Miss Mary Porter Fain, of Gar land, Texas, who spent last week here with with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Fain, met Mr. Owen in Knoxville last Saturday and they flew to New York for several days. They will return here for the week end. The game tomorrow will not be a conference tilt. The Wildcats downed the Mur phy team at the opening of the season 19-0, handing the Bulldogs their only conference defeat of the season. With the Wildcats protecting an undefeated record and the Bull dogs out (or revenge lor their ear ly defeat, the game tomorrow promises to be one of the closest of i the season. Die meal was served at the Presbyterian Church, with ladies of the church preparing the meal. The supper was given as a re ward for the fine playing of the team this season The Bulldogs are ranked second In the conference, with only one conference loss to Andrews, who is on top in the con ference. Nelson Dies In Brooklyn, Age 23 Porter Daniel Nelson, 23, died in a Brooklyn N. Y. .Hospital Satur day, OctoberY 23. Funeral services were held In Rfed Marble Baptist Church at 2 p. m. Tuesday with the Rev. France Postell officiating. Burial was in the chyrch cemetery. Nelson was a member of the 1954 graduating class of Andrews High School, and had suffered from a heart ailment since be was 10 years old. Murphy's halfback, Eddie Joe Elliott, racked up three touch downs to lead the Bulldogs scor ing. Sammy White and Fred Van Horn both crossed paydlrt once to complete the scoring. To begin the baligame Murphy received. Within three plays Fred Van Horn sprinted 70 yards for a T.D. only to be called back. Then early in the same quarter Eddie Joe Elliott skirted his. end for four yards to climax a 80 yard scoring march.
