Lambert as i he stressed the need for careful and courteous driving during the 'vacation months. Major Lambert spoke on behalf of the Governor's Traffic Safety Council's vacation j driving program which extends throi^h Labor Day. Theme of the campaign is Slow Down and Live. "Traffic accidents start a sharp upward climb in July." the patrol executive said, "and they continue to rise throughout August, marring the happy vacation months with grief and destruction." Major Lambert said that it is entirely unnecessary for the in crease in motor travel to result in a corresponding increase in traffic deaths In his. opinion, motorists could cut the traffic accident toll greatly if they would plan their trips carefully, then drive cour teously and intelligently when they're o nthe road.
