Baptist young peo ple from all the surrounding area and local young people o I other de nominations participated. The theme was "Youth Serving God". Both the Murphy and Andrews choirs sang special music. Yuvoo ne Walker read the scripture, and Katy Mae Killian the prayer. Nick Holloway presided over the report of youth activities and recognition of churches. Bruce Morgan of Car son-Newman College gave the mes sage on "Who Is A Fool In The Eyes of God?" He said that some of the things which constitute a foil are selfishness, "living it up", plan ning to turn to God tomorrow, plan ning n> long life. After the service the entire group was invited downstairs for fellow ship. Punch and cup cakes were served following a short recreation period. The team from Carson-Newman was in charge from Friday night until Sunday night. Each of the four boys is planning to go into full-time Christian service. Bruce Morgan is studying for the minis try Glenn Bolch wants to enter the mission field, Roger Duff will be a director of religious music and Qave Ervin is concerhed with Christian outreach. Roger and Glenn are seniors, Dave, a sopho more and Bruce, a freshmen. ASSEMBLY In the assembly last Wednesday the Rev. Potter spoke to the high school students in the third of the Lenten talks. His message was most meaningful to the student body. After the service Laura Bailey, president of the student council, presided over nomination* for next year* president and vice-president of the student council. Jane Cook nominated Betty Kate Wilson for president and Lonnie Hoover for vice-president Becky Rhodes nom inated Linda English for president and Carolyn Bates for vice-presi dent. Charles Smith nominated Ra mona Haggard for president and Johnny Hawkins for vice-president All are rising seniors except Lon nie, who is a rising junior. Posters and various other campaign tools are being used by the candidates to urge the students to vote for them. The election will be today (Wednesday). FASHION SHOW Mrs. Bueck's home economics classes are staging a fashion show It's supposed to be top secret but fragments of information have leaked out. The decorations are going to be very unique. There will be approximately 75 models. The narrators were chosen by popular vote and it will be in two parts. The campus is buzzing about it. Mystery seems to add spice, even to fashion show.
