L. B. Nichols, Andrews business
man, was honored at a meeting ol
tfct Andrews PTSA Tuesday, when
he received the PTSA presidents!
- award.
In making the presentation, Mrs.
Gerald Aim jnd, past president ol
the PTSA, told ot 37 years of active
P-rA membership by Mr. Nichols,
during which time he had attended
every Andrews school commence
ment practically all plays and oth
er school activities, served as
P-TA president, on the Board ol
County Commissioner, the Board
of Education, an dserved as State
Senator representing the counties
Cherokee, Clay, Macon, Graham
and Swain.
He is a member of the Andrews
Presbyterian Church and the Ro
tary Club and was married in 1922
to the former Miss Jean Candler,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. B.
Candler of Villa Rica, Georgia.
They have a son, Lee, Jr., of Car
rolton, Georgia, and two grand
sons, Lee 111, and Stephen.
