UPHOLSTERY WORKSHOP
Several Home Demonstration
Chib members will meet at the
Home Economics Buliding, Grade
School at 9 a. m , August 22, for a
two day workshop on apholstery.
Mrs. Callie Hardwicke, specialist
in home furnishings from State Col
lege, Raleigh, will be the instruc
tor. This will be an excellent op
portunity for those interested in
learning how to re-build upholster
ed furniture as the instruction will
be through and complete.
This training is limited to those
who can remain during the entire
school.
The September demonstration ol
all Home' Demonstration Clubs will
be on upholstery. However, due to
the time element the lesson will be
very brief by comparison with the
workshop. Those attending the
workshop may be available to
groups for workshops out in the
communities provided the local
clubs send leaders.
With the popular acceptance of
'do it yourself' certainly this is
the best opportunity Cherokee
County women will have to learn to
do a job that is both gratifying
and economical.
ATTENTION HOME
DEMONSTRATION MEMBERS !
This will be my last reminder to
you to vote August 23 for "Nickels
for Know-How" program. YOUR
vote will help decide your farming
future!
Certainly you are interested in
the progress of farm people and
you are aware of the necessity of
continued research if there is to be
progress. Do not let August 23 pass
without a visit to the polls! Take
your neighbor with you ! !
